EY/Reception - Learning @ Home

On this page, you will find ideas to help Nursery and Reception pupils learn at home. We hope these activities support you during this time, however they are optional so families are welcome to use their own home learning ideas if they prefer.

Have a look at our NEW 'Online Safety at Home' section!

Are you feeling worried about something?

With everything that is happening at the moment, it is perfectly normal to be worried. If there are things which are making you feel sad, angry or upset, then please let us know what it is. We will read your worries to see if there is anything we can do to help. Click the button below to share your worry with someone at school.

Maths

Money, Money, Money

This is a 1 pence coin                                        This is a 2 pence coin

Where do we use money?

Do your parents have these coins? Ask them to see if you can have a look! What is different? What is the same?

What do the numbers mean?

Could you role play shops with your family?

Who is the lady who is on the coin? Ask your parents if you don’t know.

Could you put a coin under some paper and colour it in? What can you see?

How many other different coins can you find?

Communication and Language

This week we have a poem called Lucky Worm!

Read the poem below.

Next, act out this poem!

For example, as you read pretend to brush your teeth, comb your hair, clean your fingernails and then be a wriggly worm!

Writing task:

If you could be an animal, what animal would you be? Draw your animal, and write why you want to be that animal! Good luck!
